You can read more about the signs of a leak and what to do in our resources below.
What is an open central heating system?
An open central heating system comprises a boiler, pipework and radiators, water is circulated through the system by a pump. The heating system is often connected to a hot water cylinder to provide hot water indirectly. Heating and hot water are controlled by thermostats which open and close ‘zone’ of ‘motorised valves’ on the system.
What is a closed central heating system?
A closed central heating system comprises a combination boiler, pipework and radiators with the hot water being heated directly within the boiler. This means that a hot water cylinder and zone vales are not required with a Combi boiler.
