Here at Metro Plumb (Southampton), we are committed to helping the environment and the local community around us. “Our goal is to make our community better and give back so all benefit and create better lives.” – Maisie Stambolie-Bessa, Operations Manager and Co-Franchisee We are aligned with companies that reflect our values, this is not just a box ticking exercise for us, we are passionate about our values and commitments. One such company we work with is Ideal Standards Sanitary Ware, as their sustainability reports and standard of practice aligns with ours. They are committed to ESG as a whole, continually improving many elements of their business, such as reducing carbon emissions, removing single-use plastic from their packaging and increasing the number of females in their employment. We use a local company, Abbey Grab Bags, to safely and responsibly dispose of any waste produced from our jobs. Abbey Grab Bags are a certified professional waste carrier and have been serving the South for over 25 years. We have a diverse team within the business, including male, female and transgender employees. We also promote part-time working to allow for child care, something we are passionate about in a typically male-dominated industry. We support local businesses in the area by offering a trade-for-trade relationship, whereby we support them through activities such as posting on social media, is exchange for them doing the same for us. This helps to grow local relationships and helps brand awareness for all businesses involved. We sponsor a local children’s dance school, where our daughter is happy to be a part of. We are a sponsor of the Hamble Lifeboat Charity and partake in charity fundraising for them every year, including the carol service at Christmas.Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)
