We’re Sponsoring Warrington Select This May!

Our Metro Plumb (Warrington) franchise are taking part in Warrington Select’s charity event this May, raising money for charities in and around the Warrington area. This event is approaching its second year after an incredible response from the Warrington general public last year, and the next event is set to be bigger and better than before!

Warrington Select is a non-profit sports team used for charitable fundraising. They invite and pick players from local community clubs to play for them and represent Warrington in standalone fixtures against high-quality opposition. Alongside these sporting events, they also organise a family fun day. This ensures that there is something going on for the whole family. A fun fair and activities for the younger guests, and live music, food and drink for the adults.

The event takes place on Saturday the 4^th of May, and they would love to see as many people as possible at the event.

The main charity for this event is “St Roccos Hospice”, a charity that anyone who lives in Warrington will undoubtedly know, or know of, someone who has used this amazing hospice. The staff and volunteers are amazing selfless and deserve any help they can get, that’s why it has always been a mission of Warrington Select to support this incredible charity. However, they also know that there are other charities close to people’s hearts in Warrington, and as a town representative team, they wanted to also support the charities that the community they represent care about. After an intense, nail-biting community vote, “Halton Haven Hospice” was chosen as the second charity.

The event is set to be a wonderful day out for the whole family, and they are aiming to create one of the largest and most talked about events in Warrington, or even the North West! The events and stalls already confirmed for the day are:

The ultimate aim for Warrington Select is to create an event that everyone wants to be a part of, that attracts people from all communities and has both local businesses and nationally recognised brands coming together to work towards a common goal – raising vast amounts of money for charity whilst also engaging and investing in their own communities to make Warrington a positive, safe, and enjoyable place to live. It is 100% non-profit and the organiser runs it alongside his full-time job and caring for his 2 small children. As he puts it, he’s “just a local lad that wants to do something nice” for the place he lives and that Warrington “has such an amazing town full of diversity, traditional values, friendliness, strong communities that still look out for each other, amazing local businesses that go out of their way to help as well as other towns and cities right on our doorstep that not only surround our town but add to it also.”

“I hope to use “Warrington Select” as a catalyst for building and delivering events that not only spark large scale interest so that charities may receive large amounts of funding, but also have that wealth trickle down into the businesses and communities that support it.”
